A safe variable frequency drive must come from a safety-certified manufacturing facility
As is widely recognized, a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) is an electrical control device that converts mains power supply of fixed frequency into variable frequency output through the switching actions of power semiconductor components.
Given that VFDs often operate in demanding environments—affected by factors such as temperature, humidity, vibration, or long-term drift—their performance may gradually deviate, potentially resulting in various failures. Incorrect operation or inadequate maintenance can lead to functional disruptions, causing not only operational downtime but also premature damage to the drive itself, ultimately impairing the entire production system.
The quality of a VFD is fundamentally determined by the conditions under which it is produced. A manufacturer’s commitment to safety-compliant production and strict quality control directly impacts the reliability and performance of its products. At Nanjing Oulu Electric, these principles have long been central to our operational philosophy.
On September 5, 2019, Oulu Electric participated in a comprehensive emergency rescue drill organized in Liuhe District, Nanjing. The event was attended and observed by relevant municipal and district authorities.
The scenario simulated an “explosion” and “fire” caused by an air compressor leak in a machining workshop, resulting from inadequate maintenance and poor cleaning practices. At 9:30 AM, upon discovering the incident, onsite staff immediately reported the situation and initiated self-rescue procedures. The commander onsite notified senior management and activated the Level-1 emergency response plan. The entire process was carried out in an orderly manner, and the incident was effectively brought under control.
The drill was highly commended by all participants.
The EV510A series variable frequency drives produced by Oulu Electric are designed with comprehensive consideration of potential safety hazards during application, which is why they have achieved excellent quality and a strong reputation. A truly safe inverter must originate from a safety-certified manufacturing facility.
