1. Monitor Wind Rotor Operation

  • Regularly check the wind rotor's operation. If any of the following abnormalities are observed, immediately shut down and inspect:
    ∙ Unstable rotation
∙ Severe vibration at the turbine head
    ∙ Unusual noises

  • For variable-pitch rotors: Frequently check if the pitch adjustment spiral groove resets uniformly and operates smoothly.

2. Inspect Guy Wires for Tower-Mounted Turbines

  • Regularly inspect the following for guyed-tower small wind turbines:
    ∙ Anchor stability
∙ Tightness of wire rope clamps
∙ Tension of each guy wire

  • Adjust turnbuckles as needed to tighten or loosen the wires.

3. Regular Lubrication of the Yaw Assembly

  • Key components (rotor, generator, tail vane) are mounted on the yaw assembly.

  • Maintain proper lubrication between the yaw sleeve and the polished shaft at the top of the mast to ensure smooth tail vane movement and proper rotor alignment.

  • Maintenance (every 6–12 months):

    1. Disassemble the yaw assembly.

    2. Clean components (gasoline can be used).

    3. Reapply lubricant (calcium-based grease).

    4. Note: The thrust bearing at the top of the mast shaft must also be cleaned and greased before reassembly.

4. Regular Lubrication of Generator Bearings

  • Maintenance (every 6–12 months):

    1. Remove the generator.

    2. Carefully pry off the front and rear covers (avoid rotating or forcing them open to prevent damage to internal wiring or rectifiers).

    3. Clean bearings with gasoline.

    4. Reapply lubricant (calcium-based grease) and reassemble precisely.

5. Inspection and Maintenance of Variable-Pitch Rotors

  • Due to prolonged exposure, dust accumulates on guide slots, sliders, and springs, affecting pitch adjustment responsiveness.

  • Maintenance (every 6–12 months):

    1. Remove the rotor and blades.

    2. Clean guide slots, sliders, and springs with gasoline.

    3. Note:
∙ Do not lubricate after cleaning (lubricant attracts dust).
∙ Do not interchange parts between blades (to maintain rotor balance).

6. Inspection and Maintenance of Slip Rings and Carbon Brushes

  • The turbine head rotates with wind direction changes, which can twist and damage internal wiring. To prevent this, wiring is divided into two sections:
∙ Upper section: Connects the generator to the slip rings.
∙ Lower section: Connects via carbon brushes pressing against the slip rings.

  • Maintenance (every 6–12 months):

    1. Remove carbon brushes and check for wear; replace if necessary.

    2. Clean dust from slip rings with a brush.

    3. Reassemble.

7. Inspection and Maintenance of Generator Wiring Connectors

  • Wiring is divided into upper and lower sections, connected via polarized plugs/sockets (to prevent incorrect connections).

  • Issue: Plastic connectors exposed to the environment accumulate dust and may deform.

  • Maintenance (every 6–12 months):

    1. Inspect connectors for dust or damage.

    2. Clean with a brush if needed.
