With the continuous advancement of industrial automation, frequency converters have already seen extensive application. However, many users still do not know how to connect an external potentiometer to a frequency converter. Taking the EV510 series frequency converter independently developed and produced by Nanjing Oulu Electric Co., Ltd. as an example, we will teach you how to operate it. After seeing the following steps, you will instantly understand.

Steps to Connect an External Potentiometer to the EV510 Series Frequency Converter (Bypassing Panel Control):

一、While the frequency converter is powered off, open the lower cover (as shown in Figure 1), then connect the three wires of the potentiometer to the +10V, AI2, and GND terminals of the frequency converter in order (as shown in Figure 2).

二、After wiring is completed, power on the frequency converter and proceed with parameter settings:

① First press PRG, use the up and down keys to set the parameter to P0 (as shown in Figure 3)

② Press the DATA key, use the up key to set the parameter to P0-03 (as shown in Figure 4)

       

③ Press the DATA key, set the currently displayed parameter to 2, then press the DATA key again to save (as shown in Figure 5)

④ Finally, press the PRG key twice to return to the main interface. You can now use the potentiometer knob to adjust the operational speed and change the frequency of the frequency converter (as shown in Figure 6)

Frequency converters can not only be adjusted via external potentiometers, but also provide the required power supply voltage according to the actual needs of the motor, thereby achieving energy saving and speed regulation.
