Oulu Servo System Applied in Fully Automatic Resin Grinding Wheel Molding Machine System Solution
Resin grinding wheels are widely used tools with high market demand, commonly employed in various grinding operations. Due to the impact of the pandemic, the export volume of domestic resin grinding wheels has been continuously increasing. To meet current market demands, an intelligent, efficient, stable, and reliable fully automatic resin grinding wheel molding machine system is particularly important. The system solution for the fully automatic resin grinding wheel molding machine independently developed by Nanjing Eurotech Electrical boasts advantages such as full automation, high stability, and fast production efficiency, enabling the equipment to achieve an operational efficiency of 7,000-8,000 wheels per 10 hours. This has gained widespread recognition from numerous users.
The system solution for the fully automatic resin grinding wheel molding machine, provided by Nanjing Oulu Electric, includes a complete set of industrial automation products such as the ZF-SV series servo motors, EV630P series servo drives, EV510A series frequency inverters, PLCs, and HMI communication. Among these, the servo motors act as the motion execution mechanisms, achieving precise control through position, speed, and current loops to meet users' functional requirements.
1. Equipment Structure Composition
Upper Net Placement Mechanism:
Utilizing Eurotherm's EV630P series high-performance servo system (hereinafter referred to as the "servo system"), this mechanism drives a belt pulley robotic arm to transport net pieces provided by the feeding mechanism into the grinding wheel mold. Given the fixed size of the mold, precise positioning of the net pieces during feeding is critical.
Upper Label Paper Placement Mechanism:
Operating on the same principle as the net placement mechanism, the servo system drives a belt pulley robotic arm to transport label paper provided by the feeding mechanism into the grinding wheel mold. Due to the thin and lightweight nature of the label paper, a negative pressure generator is used to adsorb the paper. This process requires stable speed and smooth acceleration/deceleration during transportation, which the Eurotherm EV630P series high-performance servo system fully satisfies.
Horizontal Push Mechanism:
The servo system drives a servo electric cylinder to transmit the equipment's mold.
Material Spreading Mechanism:
Driven by the servo system and Eurotherm's EV510A frequency inverter system, the servo system activates a servo electric cylinder to position the spreading head accurately. Meanwhile, the frequency inverter system drives an AC motor to evenly and uniformly spread the grinding material.
Handling Mechanism:
The servo system drives a belt pulley robotic arm to handle the transportation of the grinding wheel's hole rings and mold covers back and forth.
2. Implementation of the Equipment Solution
The integrated system leverages Eurotherm's servo and frequency inverter technologies to ensure precision, stability, and efficiency across all operational stages. By synchronizing motion control, material handling, and process automation, the solution achieves seamless production of resin grinding wheels with minimal manual intervention. The modular design allows for adaptability to varying production requirements while maintaining high output quality and consistency.
This complete system adopts Delta's AS228T PLC, which controls 12 servo systems via CANopen bus, enabling all mechanisms of the equipment to coordinate and cooperate according to the process requirements. Simultaneously, it communicates with Kuntai Tongtai's HMI to freely set and adjust various parameters. While ensuring stable overall system performance, it also allows real-time monitoring of equipment operating status, achieving comprehensive requirements for efficiency, operability, and interactivity.
3. System Advantages
Simplified Complexity with Precision and Reliability
The main drive system utilizes servo technology, which compared to traditional electric cylinders and stepper systems, eliminates misoperations caused by equipment jamming. It ensures smoother material feeding, simpler motion patterns, higher precision, and stronger stability.
High-Frequency Response, Ultra-Fast Communication
All servos are controlled via CANopen bus, enabling real-time command delivery, convenient adjustment, and high precision in speed and position setting with strong synchronization.
Enhanced Safety
The system reads real-time servo alarm codes through the bus and displays fault information on the touchscreen, with a historical alarm log for querying. The PLC ensures timely and effective protection for all executing agencies—including frequency converters, servo motors, servo drives, electric cylinders, and solenoid valves—in the event of any error.
